启东那项试验按群体随机分组，不是按个人分组，跟踪了 30 年。新生儿接种乙肝疫苗，原发性肝癌下降 84%。可信范围是 95% CI 23% 到 97%。乙肝表面抗原 HBsAg 阳性率下降 72%（95% CI 68% 到 75%），这个阳性率就是查出身上带着病毒的人所占的比例。中国全人群的 HBsAg 阳性比例，1992 到 2014 年下降 52%，5 岁以下下降 97%
